This course emphasizes self-rescue techniques, accident prevention strategies, and effective response to dive-related incidents. While the training can be intense and tiring, it is equally rewarding and enjoyable! You will gain the expertise needed to respond to dive emergencies, provide first aid when necessary, and execute successful rescues, ensuring both your safety and that of your fellow divers.

This course includes
Knowledge development
The PADI Rescue Diver Course covers essential areas to enhance diver safety and rescue skills. You’ll learn to identify common diver emergencies and potential risks, as well as self-rescue techniques to manage stress.
The course focuses on assisting fellow divers in distress, emphasizing evaluation and prioritization of actions.
You'll also cover emergency management procedures, including effective communication and the rescuer’s role.
First aid skills specific to diving are reviewed, along with the proper use of rescue equipment.
Finally, you'll learn to plan dives safely, including conducting risk assessments and preparing for emergencies, ensuring you are ready to handle various scenarios confidently.
Pool and open water dives
The course spans three days, beginning with a confined pool session to cover all necessary skills, followed by two days of two local open water dives.
Study material
All required study material will be provided to you. It is also possible, and highly recommended, to study before arriving for your diving adventure using the online e-Learning manual.
Lunch and refreshments
Refreshments and tasty lunches will be provided between and after diving over the three days of the course.
Equipment and fees
Diving equipment and certification fees are provided in the course cost.
PADI certification
If you are successful in completing the requirements for the course you will receive a lifelong PADI Rescue Diver Certification and lifelong skills that can be used in real world scenarios.
PADI Rescue Diver Course
PADI Rescue Diver Course is a three day diving course and can be completed on a full time or part time basis.

Day 1: Course introduction, confined water training in the swimming pool and theory. During these sessions in the swimming pool you will learn and practice all the rescue skills and scenario's before doing them in the ocean.

Day 2: Two open water dives: 9:00am – 1:30pm practicing the skills learned on day 1 and theory in the afternoon.
​
Day 3: Two open water dives: 9:00am – 3:30pm Practicing again followed by the final rescue scenario(exam).
​
In between days you will write a Emergency assistance plan as part of the course.

* The planning is flexible and we can discuss and plan a schedule together.
Diving requirements
Have a PADI Adventure Diver certification or Advanced Open Water Diver Certification or have a qualifying certification from another diving organization.
20 logged dives.
Current Emergency First Response (EFR) or similar certification.
Be 12 years or older.
Be in good health.
